About these worksheets
Decimal addition is column addition with one extra rule: line up the decimal points and the place values line up automatically. These twenty problems use tenths on both lines (like 45.7 + 12.3), pre-aligned so the correct habit is modelled on every problem. Carrying works exactly as with whole numbers — tenths carry into ones — which is the insight that makes decimals feel like old news rather than new math.

Why line up the decimal points?
It aligns tenths with tenths and ones with ones. Right-aligning digits (the whole-number habit) breaks as soon as the numbers have different lengths.
