About these worksheets
Rounding decimals is the same look-right-and-decide rule children know from whole numbers, applied one column further along: to round to the nearest tenth, the hundredths digit decides. Mixing whole-number and tenth targets on one page forces reading the instruction, not pattern-matching. The persistent error worth watching: 3.97 rounding to 4.0, where the carry ripples across the decimal point.

Frequently asked questions
How do you round to the nearest tenth?
Look at the hundredths digit: 5 or more rounds the tenths digit up, 4 or less leaves it. 3.47 → 3.5; 3.43 → 3.4.
Why mix rounding targets on one page?
So the child reads each instruction instead of autopiloting — deciding which digit is the judge is most of the skill.
