About these worksheets
This is real long division: three-digit dividends, single-digit divisors, the classic bracket, and room beneath each problem for the divide-multiply-subtract-bring-down cycle. Remainders appear naturally and answers are written quotient-r-remainder (67 r4). Twelve problems per page is deliberate — long division needs working space more than volume.

Frequently asked questions
Do the problems have remainders?
Most do — remainders are part of the skill. Answers on the key are written like 67 r4.
Why only 12 problems per page?
Long division needs vertical working space for the repeated subtract-and-bring-down steps. Cramming more problems in just cramps the work.
What should students know first?
Times tables and the division facts — long division is fact recall plus bookkeeping. The division chart is good scaffolding for the first sheets.
