About these worksheets
Counting coins is skip counting by different amounts: start with the biggest coins (count the quarters by 25s), then add dimes by tens, nickels by fives, pennies by ones. Each row mixes quarters, dimes, nickels and pennies, each coin drawn at about its real relative size. Most totals are under a dollar, and a few reach $1 or a little more.

What order should coins be counted in?
Biggest value first: quarters by 25s, then dimes by 10s, nickels by 5s, pennies last. Sorting before counting is the habit to build.
Why is the dime drawn smallest?
Because it is — the real dime is smaller than the nickel and penny despite being worth more. Learning that size ≠ value is part of the skill.
Which coins are used?
Quarters, dimes, nickels and pennies only, four to seven coins per row. Half-dollars and dollar coins are left out because they rarely turn up in everyday change.
