How to learn the 3 times table
The 3 times table follows the 3, 6, 9 skip count. Add the digits of any answer in it and you get 3, 6 or 9 (27 → 2 + 7 = 9; 36 → 3 + 6 = 9). The check flags any answer that is not a multiple of 3, but not a slip to the wrong multiple: 24 for 3 × 7 still passes.
